Zr and Ir Codoped Perovskite Nanosheets for Efficient and Stable Oxygen Evolution

The development of highly active and cost-effective electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction is essential for large-scale water electrolysis in renewable energy generation. Perovskite oxides are promising candidates but improving their activity and durability remains a crucial goal. In this study, a self-template strategy is employed to prepare a Zr and Ir codoped SrCo0.8Fe0.2O3-delta nanosheet (SCFZI). The two-dimensional porous configuration enhanced the accessible surface area of the ions, exposing abundant active sites. Meanwhile, the Zr and Ir substitution significantly improves the intrinsic activity of the sample. Therefore, SCFZI porous nanosheet exhibits a low overpotential (295 mV at 10 mA cm(-2)) and high stability in 0.1 M KOH. This study provides an approach for developing perovskite catalysts with high activity and stability.
