Enhancing adhesion strength via synergic effect of atmospheric pressure plasma and silane coupling agent

•Synergic effect of plasma and silane coupling agent boosts CFRTP adhesion by 282%•Weakest CFRTP/adhesive interface is fortified, shifting failure mode to substrate.•Plasma and silane coupling agent form C-O and Si-O-Si linkages, respectively.•Combined treatments create macro-network, drastically increasing adhesion strength.•Guidelines are proposed for CFRTP adhesion with silane's organofunctional group.
