Glukose-Messungen und Rili-BAK: Anpassung der Akzeptanzgrenzen bei der internen und externen Qualitatskontrolle

Quality-assured glucose measurement is of great importance for the adequate care of patients with diabetes. The basis for this are the specifications in the guideline of the German Medical Association for quality assurance in medical laboratory. The pass limits for both internal and external quality control were updated on May 2023. The acceptance limits for internal quality control were lowered to +/- 5% and for external quality control to +/- 8%. Based on the results of internal quality control and external quality assessment schemes already conducted, the possible consequences of these changes in quality criteria were evaluated.The results of this evaluation using the new, stricter quality criteria indicate that most glucose analysis systems will meet the adjusted specifications for the acceptance limits.
