Energy Flux of Graphene-Coated Uniaxial Chiral Circular Waveguide

A graphene-coated uniaxial chiral cylindrical waveguide is proposed. Correspondingly, the characteristic equation is derived using appropriate boundary conditions. The effect of chemical potential and chiral parameters is analyzed on propagation modes and energy flux. The characteristics of the hybrid propagation mode in the graphene-coated uniaxial chiral waveguide are more effective than in the dielectric-coated case. The dependence of energy flux and corresponding effective mode index on uniaxial chiral parameters and Fermi level of graphene are revealed. The obtained results may find some potential applications in the fabrication and modulation of novel optoelectronic devices for use in defense technology. The accuracy of the presented analysis is validated by comparing the results derived with the published literature.
