Regioregular A1-D-A2-D acceptor polymers with thienopyrroledione (TPD) or diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) as electron-withdrawing unit for high performance all-polymer photodetectors

•The A1-D-A2-D polymer was used to solve the steric hindrance of NDI-based acceptors.•The P(NDI-T-TPD) with noncovalent S⋯O interactions ensured backbone coplanarity.•The miscibility and morphology of the blend film were improved by donor paring.•The PTB7-Th:P(NDI-T-TPD) based devices achieved high Dmax* of 2.6 × 1013 Jones.
