Broad-Band Microfluidic Terahertz Detector based on Hydrogenated TiO2 Nanoparticles

With its unique characteristics, Terahertz (THz) technology has received considerable scholarly attention in recent years. However, the narrow-band absorption and operating temperature have limited practical THz detectors' development. In order to improve detecting efficiency at room and even high temperature and increase the sensitivity of the sensor, we propose this broad-band THz detector. The resonant unit of this detector adopts a distinctive microfluidic structure that can work well with the absorption layer made of hydrogenated titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles. The experimental simulation results reveal that this detector has excellent absorption and superb stability in a broad THz radiation band. This THz detector has therefore displayed significant potential in many practical applications.
