Embroidered Patches for Seamlessly Embedding Sensors in Smart Textiles

The advancement of embroidery technology allows the creation of complex design patterns on clothing and patches for personalisation and aesthetic improvement. An important feature of the embroidered patches is that they can be used for incorporation of sensors with different purposes in e-textiles. The production process is completely digitalized and requires a minimal human operation. The methods for patch production with embroidery technologies is presented and the respective strengths and weaknesses are analysed.
