Vliv podnoží na růstové a výnosové parametry u odrůd ‘golden delicious’ a ‘topaz’ [influence of rootstocks on growth and yield parameters of the ‘golden delicious’ and ‘topaz’ varieties]

The research of apple varieties ‘Golden Delicious’ and ‘Topaz’ growing on various rootstocks was conducted in experimental orchard of the Research and Breeding Institute of Pomology Holovousy in years 2017–2022. The following rootstocks were selected for testing: G11, G16, G41, RN29, Fl56, T337, Pajam1, Pajam2. The following characteristics were evaluated: yield, yield efficiency, average fruit weight, trunk cross-sectional area (TCSA) and tree crown volume. For the ‘Golden Delicious’ the higher absolute yield was evaluated for rootstocks G41, G11 and RN29. The highest yield efficiency to TCSA for the same variety was evaluated for rootstocks G11 and Pajam1 and the highest yield efficiency to crown volume was recorded with G16. The lower absolute yield for ‘Golden Delicious’ was evaluated for rootstocks Fl56, Pajam1, G16 and T337, the lowest specific yield to both growth characteristics was for rootstock Pajam2. The highest growth intensity for ‘Golden Delicious was measured for rootstock G41 by both parameters TCSA and crown volume, where the higher values were also measured for Pajam2. On the contrary the lowest value of TCSA for ’Golden Delicious’ was evaluated for rootstock Pajam1, the lowest value for crown volume was discovered in combination with G16. For the ‘Topaz’ variety the highest absolute yield was evaluated for rootstock G41. The highest specific yield to TCSA was noted for rootstock G11, the specific yield for crown volume did not show any significant differences among rootstocks. The lowest absolute yield for the ‘Topaz’ variety was discovered for the Pajam1, Pajam2 and T337 rootstocks, the lowest specific yield to TCSA then for the rootstock G16. The highest growth measured by TCSA was discovered for the rootstock G41 and the lowest for Pajam1.
