Performance of Four Quadrant Dynamic Fractor using Solid-State Fractional Capacitor

Emergence of differentiation and integration of non-integer order and development in study of fractional order modelling and control for various naturally occurring physical processes, have emphasized the incorporation of fractional order elements in different fields of engineering and sciences. Fractors are fractional order elements, commonly considered as the basic building block for fractional order systems. Design of four quadrant fractors have gained its importance due to the flexibility in exponent, ranging between -2 and 2 and Constant Phase Angle (CPA), extended between -180° to +180°. This paper demonstrates the realisation and performance analysis of four quadrant fractors by employing solid state single component fractional capacitor in GIC circuit. Real time tuning flexibility of fractance of the emulated fractors with the tuning of GIC parameters, are also portrayed.
