摘要
Infection is one of the most dreaded and costly complications of cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs), particularly in patients undergoing high-risk procedures. Pocket irrigation with chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) has been safely used in the treatment of CIED infection. We describe our experience with CHG pocket irrigation to prevent infection in patients undergoing high-risk procedures (i.e., generator change, device upgrade, lead or pocket revision).
