摘要

•A dilatometer for measuring flexible cords down to 4 K is presented.•This dilatometer is calibrated and verified using Cu and Ti alloy sample rods.•Kevlar 49® cord has a total thermal expansion of 16∙10−4 at 7 K, relative to 293 K.
