High compliance ERAS in addition to intrathecal morphine is associated with improved postoperative outcome and facilitates rapid mobilisation in laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery – a retrospective cohort study

Background: Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) is well established as standard of care in colorectal resection, but compliance rates vary between hospitals. Multimodal analgesia strategies, such as intrathecal morphine facilitate rapid mobilisation. The association between postoperative outcome and high compliance ERAS in conjunction with intrathecal morphine is unknown.
