Preparation of amidoxime polyacrylonitrile membrane with excellent mechanical strength for adsorption of uranium in simulated wastewater

•The membrane with excellent mechanical strength and adsorption capacity was prepared under mild modification conditions.•The removal efficiency of uranium by the membrane in weakly acidic uranium-containing simulated wastewater was 96.96 %.•The preparation process of the membrane was simple, low cost and environmental-friendly.
