Health Resilience in Arabic-speaking Adult Refugees With Type 2 Diabetes: A Grounded Theory Study During the COVID-19 Pandemic

•Health resilience may improve disease management and quality of life for adult refugees with type 2 diabetes.•Lived experiences of recently resettled refugees suggested COVID-19 mitigation measures were not an independent obstacle to living well with diabetes.•Diabetes care research and practice should incorporate constructs of self-reliance as a facilitator of resilience in patient-oriented assessments to promote refugee health.
