In-house temporary skeletal anchorage device guide: Free and simple

This report aimed to offer an easy-to-follow, step-by-step manual for designing and fabricating guides for miniscrew insertion using free and accessible software programs. Utilizing tools within free versions of several 3-dimensional modeling software programs allow for visualization, processing, and segmentation of patient cone-beam computed tomography scans and 3-dimensional models and design and fabrication of the miniscrew guide. This approach is particularly valuable for clinicians of any technological skills who may or may not have access to expensive software, but more importantly, it does not preclude the high quality of the end product. It will also provide the flexibility of following the same steps using different temporary skeletal anchorage device systems, in either arch or at different locations.
