•The submitted article has the following key features and findings that are highlighted as follows:•Coarser particles of Ni and Ti agglomerate, downsized particles enhance the bonding to form a good alloy.•Incomplete vaporization, solidified debris, and heat affect zone causing a surface roughness•Finer surfaces with negligible pits and crevices ensure improved corrosion resistance.•Higher deposition of TiO2 attained for minimal surface roughness.•The medium level of laser parameters ensures finer surface roughness (10.83 nm), and biocompatibility.
