Effective removal of arsenic from aqueous effluents via structural tailoring of iron-based MOF (MIL-88(Fe)) using ionic Schiff base

摘要
•A new ionic Schiff base-supported iron-based MOF (MILSB) was synthesized and characterized.•The MILSB was applied for adsorptive removal As(III) ions from aqueous effluents.•Optimal conditions for As(III) removal: Ci = 80 ppm, pH = 8, time = 80 min, MILSB = 1.0 g/L, and T = 298 K.•MILSB was suggested as highly efficient, selective, and recyclable adsorbent for As(III) ions.•Langmuir isotherm model regulated As(III) sorption on MILSB with pseudo-second-order kinetics.
