Catatonia in neurodevelopmental disorders and the creation of a neurobehavioral catatonia specialty clinic

Catatonia is a severe neuropsychiatric syndrome comprising motor, somatic, and psychiatric symptoms that occurs at high rates in idiopathic and syndromic neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs). This session will: 1) review retrospective data highlighting differences in the clinical presentation and management of catatonia in patients with and without NDDs; and 2) describe our team-based Neurobehavioral Catatonia Clinic created to address the intense care needs of this patient population.
