Structural brain connectivity correlates of suicidal ideation in adolescents

The risk of suicide greatly increases during adolescence, and rates have risen dramatically over the past 2 decades. However, few risk factors or biomarkers predictive of suicidal ideation or attempted suicide have been identified in adolescents. The goal of this study was to identify structural brain network correlates of suicidal ideation in adolescents. Based on previous research, we hypothesized structural connectivity aberrations associated with the hippocampus, amygdala, and cerebellum.
