6.5 bipolar polygenic risk and person-level prediction

Polygenic risk scores (PRS) for bipolar disorder (BD) have been shown to be elevated in BD. However, the variance that PRS explains is limited, so an important question is whether BD-PRS can inform person-level prediction of BD. To test this, we assess whether BD-PRS adds to a previously published risk calculator (RC) to predict new-onset BD.
