Semi-shadow file system: An anonymous files storage solution

With the explosion of the Internet, more and more people are realising the importance of personal file information, but most existing file systems are deployed in head cloud companies, making files at risk of data theft during storage. Therefore we designed a new Semi-Shadow File System (S2FS), which provides sufficient security, flexibility and a smaller usage of storage. S2FS replaces the previous file header with a new encrypted semi-shadow file header (S2H), and disrupts and compresses the data stream into multiple unordered data blocks stored on different devices, making it difficult to distinguish file metadata information and data information. The S2FS system only stores a portion of the relevant information for data recovery in an encrypted database, thereby increasing the difficulty of file recovery. Theoretical and security analyses show that the proposed S2FS system can prevents malicious, erroneous and invalid files. Thus even if the data is stolen, the attacker cannot recover it. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and practical value of our method.
