The Use of The Line Impedance Symmetrical Components for Stator Faults Detection and Location in Symmetrical Six-Phase Induction Motors

摘要
This paper addresses the detection of inter-turn short-circuit faults in symmetrical six-phase induction motors (S6PIM). The fault diagnostic is conducted by applying a non-intrusiveness signal-based fault diagnostic technique based on the symmetrical components analysis of the line impedance. This technique allows the fault severity evaluation and the identification of the faulty motor phase, facilitating the implementation of fault-tolerant control strategies. The presented experimental results, for different load torques and fault scenarios, demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed technique.
