There were several mild relative cognitive weaknesses which were likely a reflection of long-standing ADHD symptoms, secondary to the NF1 diagnosis. In particular, her cognitive profile demonstrated challenges with higher-order executive functions, most notably novel problem-solving. The cumulative impact of other factors, including breast cancer and hormonal changes associated with perimenopause, might also be contributing to the neuropsychological profile. Additionally, her cognitive symptoms are likely exacerbated by her reported chronic low mood.
