An isoparametric element permutation method for railway tunnel–soil interaction modeling in train–track–tunnel–soil dynamic analysis

•Tunnel-soil interaction modelling method is proposed by spatial iso-parametric finite elements coupling.•A coupled model for train-track-tunnel-soil interaction is constructed in the finite element framework.•Measurements in site and numerical examples have validated the practicality of this model.
