Finger Force Distribution Measurement System with Inclination Correction Function.

It was known that the ability of the object handling contains a lot of health information. In order to find the correlation between the finger force balance and the grasp posture in hand motion manipulation, we developed the finger force distribution measurement system. In this paper, the hardware of the measurement device is modified with implanting a new finger position adjustment mechanism and a 3-axis tilt sensor for improving the reproducibility of the grasp position from the same subject, detecting the grasp motion inclination and stabilizing the measurement for individual changes. The measurement system is upgraded to be more accuracy and qualificative with the inclination correction function. The correlation investigation between different grasp motions may contribute to the medical tacit knowledge quantification and verbalization, which would be applied to the human-assistive technologies in the real world.
