Analysis and Modeling of Switched-Capacitor Converters with Parasitic Inductance.

In practical applications of switched-capacitor converters (SCCs), its performance is inevitably affected by parasitic inductance. The basic unit of SCCs considering stray resistance and inductance behaves as a second-order system composed of resistors, inductors, and capacitors. In this paper, the charge-sharing loss of SCCs is analyzed by q-u curves of the capacitors under underdamped and overdamped conditions, respectively. By this method, output equivalent impedance of SCCs is derived to evaluate the impact of parasitic resistance and inductance on the performance of SCCs in the full frequency band. Finally, the 4-to-1 Dickson circuit with parasitic inductance is taken as an example to verify the accuracy of the proposed model.
