摘要
Over the last years, there has been an enormous growth in internet and mobile users. In urban regions, the combination of these events has resulted in a massive flow of network traffic to the city infrastructure and cellular operators. Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) appear as a promising solution: by distributing the content through multiple nodes, they are capable to deliver content with low latency, over intermittent connections, leading to a reduction in the use of the 5G backhaul. This paper focuses on the proposal of a CDN for a smart city, deployed in a private cellular network, with CUPS and MEC, using the IPFS protocol. A comparison between the CDN and direct stream is performed, in controlled and real-world environments, to services already deployed on the Aveiro Tech City Living Lab (ATCLL). Lastly, the impact of IPFS distribution on the edge and core, in CUPS and MEC scenarios is assessed.
