The integration of smart grid technology has received a lot of attention in recent years due to the rising concern over environmental sustainability and the rising demand for electricity. Systems for Demand Side Management (DSM) are crucial to improving energy efficiency and maximizing the effectiveness of power use. The effects of DSM systems on energy consumption patterns, grid stability, and overall energy management are examined, with particular attention paid to the computer control methods employed by these systems. The paper opens with a summary of the problems that modern power grids confront during times of high demand and why DSM systems are necessary to solve them. Then, the several forms of computer-based control used in DSM, including as load scheduling, price-based mechanisms, and incentive programs, are examined in detail. Each method is extensively examined to reveal the elements that affect their usefulness in practice and their weaknesses.
