A 56-year-old female presented to the emergency department (ED) with five days of right lower quadrant abdominal pain, flank pain, and urinary retention. Her review of systems was negative for hematuria, vaginal bleeding, vaginal discharge, vomiting, or diarrhea. Her past medical history was notable for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) on 3 liters-per-minute of home oxygen, a 60 pack-year smoking history, pulmonary nodules, alcohol use disorder, and lumbar disc disease with a prior T10-L2 fusion.
