•Acetic acid-induced ECI mice showed long-term memory impairment.•The p-GluR1 levels at Ser831 and Ser845 decreased in the dorsal hippocampi of ECI mice.•IL-1β, IL-18, and TNF-α levels increased in the dorsal hippocampus of ECI mice.•Caspase-1 and ASC/TMS1 levels increased in the dorsal hippocampus of ECI mice.
