Engineering characterization and environmental analysis of natural rubber latex modified asphalt mixture

•Natural rubber latex (NRL) was used as bitumen’s modifier and compared with SBS.•Engineering and environmental performance observations of NRL modified asphalt mixture.•Positive improvement on the engineering properties of NRL modified mixture were observed.•NRL has significantly lower global warming potential (GWP) than SBS.
