Consensus manipulation in social network group decision making with value-based opinion evolution

•We propose the value-based opinion evolution model.•We establish a consensus manipulation model in SNGDM with value-based opinion evolution (CM-VBOE).•Sensitive and comparative analyses are conducted to highlight the importance of considering value-based opinion evolution.•A hypothetical application in crowdfunding project selection is provided to illustrate the applicability of CM-VBOE.
