Improvements in morphometric and structural traits of Vitex trifolia L. to exogenous application of nano-silicon in vitro

•Silicon nanoparticles were tested for the quantitative and qualitative improvements in vitex trifolia.•The nanoparticles in the medium facilitated improved in vitro shoot proliferation.•The silicon nanoparticles enhanced biomass production, foliar micro-structural traits, and rooting efficiency.•The nanoparticles favoured the survival of V. trifolia plantlets under in vivo conditions.
