摘要
Neutrophil Extracellular Traps (NETs) are known to play a role in the pathophysiology of Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI). It is thought that activated platelets participate in a feedback loop with neutrophils to enhance NET production under inflammatory conditions, such as AMI. This neutrophil-platelet axis has a potentially detrimental role during AMI by causing inflammation-mediated cardiac damage. However, limited literature exists in this space. To confirm this notion, this study tested the hypotheses that: 1) NET complexes can activate platelets, and 2) activated platelets can enhance NET formation.
