摘要
Introduction: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is associated with increased atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk and high plaque burden. Standard risk calculators underestimate ASCVD risk and guideline-based preventive medications are underutilized. Among patients with non-dialysis-dependent CKD, ASCVD prevention guidelines recommend statin and/or ezetimibe in most or all patients with stage 3 CKD or greater. Our objective was to determine the prevalence of atherosclerosis among patients with CKD stage 3-4 referred for coronary CT angiography (CCTA), and the use of statin/ezetimibe before and after CCTA among patients with identified plaque.
