Analysis of the characteristics of principle investigators funded by asrm: did the gender disparity amongst research grant recipients resolve?

Despite the increase in representation of female physicians in many medical specialties, including reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI), there is evidence to suggest a gender gap in research authorship, grant recipients, and leadership positions. The ASRM Research Institute has made it a priority to fund research that is: 1) not eligible for NIH, federal, or state funding; 2) answers timely, basic, or clinically relevant questions; and 3) addresses initiatives important to the field and to the membership, which includes promoting diversity within its membership.
