Proposal of a New Safety Margin for Placement of C2 Pedicle Screws on Computed Tomography Angiography

•This is a retrospective analysis of CTAs of 259 patients in a single tertiary level hospital.•We describe the relationship of the VA in the C2 TF.•We quantify the safety margin available in case of lateral breach of screw using different parameters.•Parameters included occupation ratio of the VA in the C2 TF and distance between the lateral wall of the pedicle and VA.
