Determinants of Weekly Price Variations of Yerba Mate in Argentina

This paper analyzes the weekly variations in the price of 300 presentations of yerba mate published online, for the period between December 2015 and February 2021, considering the product's own attributes, temporal events, costs and exchange rate fluctuations, resorting to econometric estimates based on Random Effects (RE) and Feasible Generalized Least Squares. Feasible (FGLS). The results from these estimations are significant for all groups of explanatory variables considered. The impact of each of them turns out to be unequal, with the official exchange rate and the logarithm of the average price standing out as the ones that have the greatest influence on the decision to vary the sale price.
