A Medium/Long-Term Electrical power and Electrical Energy Balance Method for Power System considering Extreme Weather

Extreme weather has an adverse effect on the stable operation of power system. In order to improve the power grid balance problem considering extreme weather in the medium /long-term time scale, this paper proposes an electrical power and electrical energy balance method considering extreme weather. Firstly, considering the influence of extreme weather on hydropower and renewable energy, the random multi-scenario method is adopted to model hydropower and renewble energy. On this basis, the medium/long-term electrical power and electrical energy balance model of power system is established. At the same time, IEEERTS-79 system is taken as an example to verify the feasibility of the proposed model and method. The results of the example show that the model considering extreme weather can better cope with the weather change and guarantee the medium/long-term electrical power and electrical energy balance of the power grid.
