摘要
This article publishes for the very first time the sermon preached by fray Dionisio Vazquez in 1533 before the Faculty members of the Complutense University gathered at the Collegiate Church of Saints Justo and Pastor on its Saint Nicholas' feasts. In order to introduce the sermon, it begins by remembering fray Dionisio's almost forgotten figure, although of key relevance in the Spanish Renais-sance Humanism. After that, it analyzes the Maltese manuscript from its record; contrary to what was thought before, it determines that the rest of its Castilian sermons were preached by Alonso de Virues in the Emperor's house in 1534's Lent. Finally, it contextualizes the preaching art of fray Dionisio and associates the con-tent of the sermon, around bishops, with a funny anecdote attributed to him in the Floresta Espanola (1574).
