Efficient Group Authentication and Key Agreement Scheme for Vehicular Digital Twin

As a novel paradigm, vehicular digital twin (VDT) aims to improve the passengers’ driving experience by using digital twins deployed in the cloud to communicate with each other. However, it is vulnerable to encounter malicious attacker which can compromise the sharing data between digital twins and further impacts the safe driving of vehicle in the physical world. In this paper, we propose an efficient group authentication and key agreement method for vehicular digital twin, named GVDT. In particular, we design a new lightweight ring cooperative authentication only needs one round to achieve implementing mutual authentication of members. In addition, we design an identity-based broadcast group key agreement scheme, which can implement dynamic key management to cope with the influence of member changes on keys. The analysis results demonstrate that the proposed scheme not only satisfies the security requirements of VDT, but also reduces the computation and communication costs efficiently.
