A Cyber-Physical Systems Vision of Power Systems.

Power systems support the operation and development of any economy, in a manner in which the security and efficiency of their operation become crucial for the entire human society. The permanent integration of new technologies for obtaining electricity and the adaptation to the increasingly dynamic profiles of electricity demand requires the creation of a framework for the development and growth of energy systems that allows reconfiguration and safe, robust operation right from the conceptual design phase. The current paper addresses this topic, taking into account the main functional aspects and new approaches, based on the combination of the CPS with the cognitive paradigms.
