Comparison of the Psychometric Properties of the EQ-5D-3L-Y and EQ-5D-5L-Y Instruments in Spanish Children and Adolescents

•The EQ-5D versions for children with 5 response levels of the questionnaire were recently developed to assess health-related quality of life.•This article adds information about the feasibility, reliability, and validity of the EQ-5D-5L version and compares the performance of EQ-5D-5L-Y and EQ-5D-3L-Y versions in terms of ceiling effect, redistribution, and informativity.•The results of this study will help in assessing the performance of this new questionnaire and in the interpretation of the results of future studies using the EQ-5D 5L.
