Memory

The article aims to give an updated overview of the science of human memory. A standard taxonomy of memory stores is introduced. Memory failures and our propensity for creating false memories are critically discussed. Several aspects of everyday memory and pedagogically relevant areas are reviewed. Currently the findings from the applied science of memory seem more useful than the findings from neuroscience. Educational systems will benefit from updated knowledge about human memory.
