The anion SiF 6 2− acts as template guest in the assembly of an unprecedented dinuclear heteroleptic triple stranded (SiF 6 @[Fe 2 (L1)(L2) 2 ]) 2+ helicate exhibiting spin crossover, where L1 and L2 are two different bis-pyrazolylpyridine ligands.
