In-House Production of Various Forms of [225Ac] Ac-PSMA Injection—A South African Hospital Experience

Introduction: 225Ac-PSMA in its various drug forms has been reported as a competitive alternative or adjunct therapy in castration resistance male prostate cancer. While it has shown great efficacy to those who respond well, much effort needs to be directed to understanding the stability and radiobiology of this drug and its derivatives. Under the principles of Good Radiopharmacy Practice (GRPP), we produced at least three forms of [225Ac]-PSMA bolus injections in a cleanroom environment approved under quality control (QC) testing conditions indicated in related monographs.
