摘要
A healthy 3-year-old girl presented with a skin-colored nodule near the left eye that grew over three months, became pink-to-violaceous in color, and bled twice. A plastic surgeon suspected a chalazion versus epidermal inclusion cyst and treated empirically with a ten-day course of cephalexin without significant effect. Inflammation slowly faded, revealing a darker violaceous focus at the plaque’s superior aspect (Figures 1A-B). Doppler ultrasound to evaluate for a vascular anomaly revealed a 1-cmavascular, hypoechoic lesion without evidence of enlarged or abnormal lymph nodes. Photographic monitoring over the following year demonstrated a shrinking, fading plaque that slowly improved (Figure 1C).
