Surgical intervention of the tricuspid valve (TV) is traditionally undertaken less commonly in comparison to its mitral counterpart. Historically, surgical treatment of isolated tricuspid regurgitation (TR) is associated with significant mortality and morbidity and does not appear to improve survival.1-3 Isolated tricuspid valve surgery is therefore frequently withheld from an increasingly underserved population of patients with relevant (moderate to severe) TR.4, 5 Medical therapy consists mainly of diuretics for symptomatic relief and is often limited by impaired renal function.6
