Maternal and paternal emotion expression and youths’ negative emotions: The moderation of resting respiratory sinus arrhythmia

•Maternal and paternal negative dominant emotion expression were positively related to college students’ negative emotions•Paternal dominant expression was stronger related to college students’ negative emotions among those with lower resting RSA.•Maternal negative emotion expression did not interact with college students’ resting RSA in predicting negative emotions.
