A Differential Low-Profile Metasurface Filtering Antenna

In this paper, a differential metasurface antenna with filter-like frequency response is proposed. By introducing two pairs of notch units, three radiation nulls are generated to improve the selectivity of the proposed antenna. A low-profile of 0.08 lambda(0) (lambda(0) is the wavelength in free space at the center frequency of 5.7 GHz of the proposed antenna) is accomplished. Furthermore, high cross-polarization levels with -50.09 dB in both xoz and yoz plane at 5.7 GHz are achieved. An impedance bandwidth of 18.9% (vertical bar S-dd11 vertical bar<-10dB) is realized.
